Barkuma Partners with Weber Australia to Enhance Job Opportunities and Skills Development for South Australians with Disabilities

A new commercial partnership between Barkuma and Weber Australia is driving job creation and skills development for South Australians with disabilities. Through this collaboration, Weber BBQs has outsourced the filling, weighing, and labelling of their premium rubs and seasonings to Barkuma, who have recently invested in state-of-the-art filling and labelling equipment.

Dave Green  of Barkuma says the partnership strengthens Barkuma’s role as a leading provider of commercial solutions within South Australia’s food industry. “This contract not only increases work opportunities for people with disabilities at Barkuma but also fosters employee training and skills growth. It’s a prime example of how social value is created, benefiting South Australian businesses from the start of production through to the final stages of packaging.”

Tim Porter, from Weber Australia adds, “Weber barbecues are amongst the most popular and well-regarded grilling products worldwide and especially here in Australia. Weber barbecues are known for their quality construction, durability, and innovative features. Above all else Weber barbecues are renowned for cooking great food with wonderful flavour. The in-house development of our seasonings and rubs range will only add to those great flavour results.”

Tim reflects on the success of the new partnership “It has been, and is, incredibly satisfying to work with Barkuma as a vital partner in the launch of our premium range of rubs and seasonings. Not only for Weber to see a successful product introduced to the market but to also know that there are increased opportunities for people with disabilities. The commitment of the entire team at Barkuma will ensure a quality product will be delivered to our retail stores.”
