Creating Opportunities, Delivering Quality: Barkuma and Barossa Fine Foods

18th September, 2026

Barkuma’s commercial partnerships span a diverse range of South Australian industries, each built on the foundation of reliability, quality and trust. Across packaging, assembly and a range of other commercial services, these partnerships give production workers the opportunity to contribute real, valued work to businesses across the state.

Barossa Fine Foods is one such partner, and an icon of South Australian smallgoods. Renowned for its range of charcuterie, fresh meats and gourmet products, the family-owned business has recently partnered with Barkuma.

Since opening its first shop in 1991, Barossa Fine Foods has grown to eight retail outlets and a modern factory supplying products nationwide – all while being true to traditional hand-processing methods and sourcing free-range, sustainably farmed meats from local farmers. The company’s brand portfolio includes Barossa Fine Foods, Schulz Butchers, Standom, Angelakis Bros and The Cheesemonger, reflecting a shared commitment to quality across every product line.

Through this new partnership, Barkuma’s production workers now manage the packing and labelling of Barossa Fine Foods’ shelf-stable beef stick range. This work brings valuable commercial activity into Barkuma, allowing production workers to add to a quality product while showing how commercial success and social impact can work together.

Dave Green, Business Development Manager at Barkuma, says: “This collaboration strengthens our role as a leading provider of commercial solutions in South Australia’s food industry. It not only expands work opportunities but also supports training and skill development, generating social value from production through to packaging.”

Craig Winspear, General Manager of Barossa Fine Foods, adds: “Working with Barkuma has been incredibly rewarding. This partnership ensures timely transition of the packing of our shelf-stable products, while increasing opportunities for people with disabilities, aligning perfectly with our commitment to quality, community and social impact.”

Together, Barossa Fine Foods and Barkuma are demonstrating how commercial partnerships can deliver premium products and meaningful social outcomes, setting a benchmark in the South Australian food industry.
