Barkuma’s 2025 Employer Awards

10th December, 2025

Reflecting on a meaningful evening at Government House

On International Day of People with Disability, we were honoured to join Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC at Government House for Barkuma’s 2025 Employer Awards, a celebration of the role inclusive employment plays in strengthening our community.

These awards recognise employers who create workplaces where people of all abilities can contribute, grow, and belong. As shared on the night, employment offers more than a livelihood, it provides purpose, structure, connection and the confidence to answer “What do you do?” with pride. For many people with disability that opportunity can be genuinely life-changing.

We acknowledged twenty outstanding employers whose commitment to meaningful and long-term inclusion continues to open doors and support individuals to thrive in their roles. Their efforts highlight the real impact of workplaces that value diversity and work alongside employees to create sustainable opportunities.

Our sincere thanks to Her Excellency for hosting this special event on such an important day, and for her ongoing support of inclusive employment across South Australia.

A wonderful opportunity to recognise employers, celebrate achievements, and reflect on the importance of ensuring everyone has the chance to participate in work that is meaningful to them.
