Paul’s Warehouse started with one small shop in Kogarah New South Wales and after 31 years has grown to 15 large retail locations across Australia, including one store in Adelaide. Paul’s motto of "Don't Pay Full Price, Pay Paul’s Price” reflects their desire to provide customers with the best value sportswear in Australia. However, they are more than a discount sportswear store and offer some of the world’s most well-known brands including Nike, Adidas, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and many more.
Throughout their 31 years, Paul’s has been family owned and run with the community at heart. Naomi Bailey, Adelaide Store Manager says “Paul’s is an Australian company that is about giving everyone a fair go.”
As part of their commitment to the community, Paul’s Adelaide started working with Barkuma to provide work skills assessments to our job seekers. The aim of a work skills assessment is to define areas where a person with disability may require further support in their job. It is an important part of the process to ensure we find the right person for the right job. By providing work skills assessments, Paul’s found a perfect match for their business. Naomi says “After working closely with Barkuma doing work skills assessments we came across Sarah who we felt would be a great fit within our team and decided to put her on.”
Sarah works at Paul’s Warehouse 8 hours per week as a Shop Assistant and absolutely loves her job. Her duties include re-stocking shelves, sorting clothing and footwear and cleaning. Naomi says “It is really great to have an employee who is grateful for their position.”
To anyone considering employing someone with disability “I have recommended Barkuma to people and will continue to. They are all about finding the right person for the job. We are very happy to have built a mutually beneficial relationship with Barkuma and will continue to work closely with them.”
