On November 8, Barkuma held a breakfast event for South Australian organisations at the Adelaide Pavilion. We provided an overview of Barkuma’s services, with a focus on how businesses may become involved with and support our organisation. It was our pleasure to also welcome Jo Marshall and Simon Bryant who spoke about their involvement with Barkuma and the importance of having a diverse workforce. They were also able to provide insight on the support available which makes employing a person with disability easy. Also discussed were the benefits experienced, for the person with disability, the business and other staff members.
The focus of the morning was to highlight employment opportunities for people with disability as well our services at the Elizabeth and Holden Hill factories.
Several new businesses were represented and showed interest in our services, both at the factory and in employment. Our thanks go to all guests who attended this networking and information event, it was inspiring to see so many South Australians excited about supporting people with disability.
