The Transition Program

The Transition Program is coordinated by Barkuma Employment (a service of Barkuma) on behalf of the Department for Education and Child Development and a range of other stakeholders.

It aims to assist students with disabilities make a successful transition from school to the workforce or further education and is recognised nationally as a best practice model.

The Program, which takes place over the school year, gives students with disability a head-start through employment skills training, accredited industry training, work experience and assistance with job seeking with the support of a Disability Employment Service (DES) agency.
